Founded in 1986 the Harlan V. Johnson Agency was a one man show. After realizing his calling wasn't in higher education, Harlan left Bemidji State University in 1983 and moved to the Brainerd Lakes area. Being a Bloomington native, Harlan's parents had owned a family cabin on the South Bay of the Whitefish Chain for years. He knew he had a passion for the area and serving people so he took the leap in starting his own brokerage.
